A cross between Petham Golding, daughter of the English Goldings, and an USDA select male. Released in 1985. It has become popular as a bittering hop and is sometimes used in mid kettle additions. The alpha acids content is high while the beta acids content is low compared to other high alpha acids varieties. It’s aroma strength is mild to medium-heavy, spicy, distinct piney aroma. Galaxy is a new and exciting hop out of Australia. It contributes a distinctive clean citrus and passion fruit character when used as a late addition. Galaxy hops have a very distinct aroma which will work great in an IPA. Late additions and dry hopping with Galaxy hops is highly recommended. |

Galena is now by far the widest grown hop in America . It is a heavy cropper and has good resistance to disease. Brewing tests have revealed a Bullion-like flavour and Galena can be used as a replacement for this variety, which is now almost extinct. |

Although originally developed in Britain, Northern Brewer is now grown almost exclusively in Germany . It is very versatile in that it can be used to provide bitterness in both Ales and Lagers.
