Special Lager

A pale gold, full-bodied lager with a soft hop character.

The Pride of Yorkshire range is part of Brupaks' Microbrewery Series. These kits are made from concentrated brewer's wort. Production follows traditional brewhouse procedures using only the finest quality 2-row malting barley and the choicest hops. The grist (crushed grains) is "mashed" with water at 65°C for around one hour to convert the starch into malt sugar. The resultant liquid (wort) is strained into a boiling vessel where hops are added for bitterness. After boilng, extra hops are added for flavour and aroma.

Extra hops and grains are included in a BruBag to further enhance the flavour of this beer.

Although excellent beer will be produced when making this kit in the normal way, subtle flavour changes can be made by using a few advanced brewing techniques - for which instructions are included.

Additional ingredients required: 1 tsp sugar per litre when bottling or barrelling.
